On June 11th, 2009, ISO President Alan Morrison visited and worked with Vietnam Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality (STAMEQ). STAMEQ's Director General- Dr. Ngo Quy Viet warmly welcomed and received Dr. Alan Morrison at the STAMEQ's Head office.

At the working, Mr. Alan Morrison has briefly introduced on organization structures and main activities of ISO as well as ISO strategic plan 2011-2015. He also shows that the number of ISO membership is increasing. In 2003, there were 148 national standards bodies and on April 2009 up to 161 ones.

On behalf of STAMEQ, Dr. Ngo Quy Viet would like to thank ISO President for the precious support of ISO for years and expresses his wish to continue be supported on training STAMEQ's staffs on standardization and conformity assessment as well as technical supports from ISO in future.

On June 12th, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan and Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Dinh Tien also received and worked with Dr. Alan Morrison.
