The Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Van Lang welcoming Mr.Alan Johnston

On 25th March 2009, the Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Van Lang received Mr. Alan Johnston- the Chairman of the International Committee of Legal Metrology (CIML) under the International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) and the Chairman of Measurement Canada (MC).

At the working, the Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Lang highly appreciated the support of Mr. Alan who provided documents and shared experiences on setting up and implementing regulations on measurement. The Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Lang expressed the wish that the Measurement Canada and Mr. Alan himself will help Vietnam much more in consultancy on setting up the Law on Metrology and expected further cooperation between Vietnam and MC on legal measurement.

On the same day, Deputy Director General of the Directorate for Standards and Quality Tran Van Vinh welcomed and received Mr. Alan at the Head-office of the Directorate. Mr. Alan shared experiences on legal measurement, scientific measurement and industrial measurement and highly emphasized the role of legal measurement in the work of consumer's right protection. After the work, Mr. Alan visited Labs of Vietnam Metrology Institute in Hanoi and Quality Assurance and Testing Centre 3 in Bien Hoa.
